The original building is believed to have been built in the late 1800's beside "Vicarage Wood", now "Victoria Park" and consisted of the main two-stored building and yard.

1913
In 1913, the property was bought by the Territorial Force Association when the main hall and back room were added. The back room was in fact a firing butt used for rifle practice. At this time the hall became locally known as the “drill hall”.

1960
The building was sold again in 1960 and placed in Trust, at which time the 1st Ivybridge Scouts & 1st Ivybridge Guides became the permanent users of the hall.

1992
In March 1992 due to the large number of Scouts & Guides, and pressure on available meeting slots, the 3rd Ivybridge Scout Group was formed and began meeting in their present HQ adjacent to the Ivybridge Leisure Centre.

2004
In 2004 the building was transferred to the “Scout Association Trust Corporation” as Custodial Trustee
